Diplomatic Area is one of the major and most important districts in Mamana, the capital city of Bahrain. As an all-day active location, it was the perfect place to make this spatial experience remarkable. “The Third Space” is a spatial experience that aims to reshape and redefined the meaning of public spaces in nowadays cities contexts. By converting a rooftop of a public parking building into an open public space that serves youth all-day-long. “The Third Space” serves as the main venue for the “Taa Al-Shabbab 11” annual youth event, where it welcomes ministers and directors of Bahrain Culture Authority and Major Bahrain Companies.
I developed the concept of the space and led a team of architects and interior designers to achieve the project in three months. “The Third Space” was 14th of February 2020 but unfortunately at the end of the same month, COVID-19 reached the island country and force us to close the experiment and suspend the event for good.
