“Under The Shade” Trilogy

“Under The Shade” is a project that highlights our reality. The fact that we live today under the shade of what our heritage and grandfathers have built for us.

I have visited the last black smith workshop owned by my family “Al Haddad”. I cooperated with the black smith to make a chair. That chair was the spotlight of the project. I took the chair along with me to the village. I took pictures of members of the village society sitting on it. This idea symbolizes the crafts that have been developed by the grandfathers, which provides us with ease in the light of our daily life. The rhetorical idea of the project is us resting under that shade.

Form Two: Storm of memories

The whole idea is that this is the second phase we go through as the generation of today after we review our heritage history. We find ourselves stuck in a storm of feelings and memories of the grandfathers, and the question of “Why aren’t we like them?”, questioning all of the differences between our current generation and their past generation.
