Multiple Exposure of Manama, The particular relationship between place and its inhabitants can at times be so profound that it is beyond our comprehension. It can suddenly feel like we’re being spoken to by the everyday facades of the clusters of buildings surrounding us; as I they are recounting the details of our lives. It can feel like there is a story every mark; a novel in every crack; with the details running off the ins and outs of each building as time goes by; and then, life would enfold within again, into the forgotten corners, and its meaning gets lost in the bustle of everyday.
So is Manama, buildings set so close but, hearts set even closer, and a story that streams across the tops of these buildings. Every turn gives you a whiff of its spirit, that spirit which accompanies us to bed every night. It grows with us; and it becomes something that cannot be put to writing; weaving stories that so genuinely unveil the poignant taste of life. At one time you may realize, that this spirit you feel has really just been the sentiment of this place we have been in all along; the place where all our souls have come together.
You may realize that the sensual waves of this spirit are the stories of our lives, the things that happened between the walls of a place where we all once lived.
