قد تكون هذه السلسلة هي الأطول، لككنا سنبني السلسلة بشكل متقطع لكي نتجنب الرتابة، فموضوع سوق المنامة موضوع طويل و متشابك، تتعارض فيه كل الأفكار، و موقع يجتمع فيه كل المجتمع، حيث كل شيء يختلط مع كل شيء، فتسير بين جنبات مجتمع يحمل روحاً جميلة.

يعتبر السوق العنصر الرئيسي في تأسس المدينة1، فهو الساحة التي يجتمع فيها المتمع بأكمله، و هو الموقع الذي يبنى فيه الاقتصاد المحلي، فالسوق الذي امتد من باب البحرين إلى مسجد الخواجة، و من الفاضل إلى نعيم، كل منطقة وسط يحيط بها كل المناطق التي تشكل المنامة اليوم.

لكننا لن نخوض في السوق المسقفة القديمة أولاً، مركز السوق القديمة2، بل سنسير على الأطراف، في المناطق التي بنيت خلال زمن النهضة الاقتصادية، حين كان العقل التجاري مبني على التغيير للأفضل، عبر خلق هوية معاصرة، تجمع بين الثقافة المحلية و الصورة الحضارية الغربية، هكذا أصبح نتاج هذه العقول مشروعات معمارية قادرة على ن تحكي قصة التطور في سوق المنامة.

Probably this series would be the longest, so we won’t write all of it directly behind each other. Manama Souq is a very important subject. Manama Souq is the place where all the ideas come together, where everyone meets everyone. And you can see the real beauty of our society.

The Market is the main part of having a settlement or a city. It is the place where the society born. The location of the society’s economy. Manama Souq was extend from Bab Al-Bahrain till Al-Khowaja mosque. And from Al-Fadhel neighborhood to Naim village. It’s located in the center of the city, as a public space for all the neighborhoods around.

We are not going to talk about old part of the Souq first. We are going to talk about the outline area of the Souq, Where the old businessmen started a new wave of architecture, as a way to create new urban environment that combine the traditional identity with the modernism visions. Those new ideas created unique architectural movement in the new parts of Manama Souq.
