ساستمر في الحديث عن هذا الشارع المميز، و مثال آخر عن نهضته العمرانية، لكنني لن أتطرق في حديث لما ينشره الأهالي من حكايا مختلفه عنه، حيث أنه و بصورة غريبة، فإن هذا المبنى يحمل شخصية حقيقية، تصميم هندسي جميل موزون لمبنى بهذا القدم، و طاقة استيعابية كبيرة في مكان مختار بعناية، ليعطيك في نهاية المطاف مشروع معماري حقيقي.

من صغري كنت أراه شيء كبير و مميز، كنت أمر عليه بشكل دائم، لكنه كان خالٍ معظم الوقت، نظراً لأمور عدة، لكن هذا الأمر شجع الأهالي على سرد قصص أكثر حولة، مما جعلني في نهاية المطاف -كما كثير من أقراني- في خلق صورة سوداوية مخيفة له، بالتالي الأبتعاد عنه، و التوقف عن اكتشافه في المقام الأول، و قد تكون بنيته العملاقة و شكله الغريب المتصلب وسط حيّ قديم منبسط يساعد على خلق هذه الأفكار كون الناس تخاف من الاشياء الجديدة في أول لقاء.

يتألف المبنى من سبعة طوابق، الطابق الأرضي يتألف من مجموعة محلات بارتفاع طابق و نصف، في حين يستمر المبنى بارتفاع طابق واحد يضم شقق مختلفة، قبل فترة ليست بسيطة، ذبت الحياة من جديد في هذا المبنى، تحول لسكن العمال الأجانب -أو ما يسمى رسمياً بسكن العزاب-، غير أنني و نظراً لقرائن عدة يمكن قراءتها من على واجهات المبنى شبه متأكد من أن تحول بشكل أو بآخر لصورة من صور العِمارة العامية (Vernacular Architecture) الحديثة، و هو أمر يدفعني لوضعه في جدول أولوياتي لصنع دراسة كاملة حوله، فهو يضم في مركزة مصعدان مع سلم واحد يقود للشقق، لكنني للاسف لم أتمكن هذه المرة من التصوير في داخله.

In addition to what I was saying about Isa Al-Kabeer Avenue, we are going to take another example about its special architectural projects. But, I won’t mention what locals says about it, since they have a lot of unreal stories that became a constant in the wrong formula.

Since I was child, I was amazed by this Great Structure. In somehow, this building has its own character. And it was empty most of the time, which let the locals to made up their different stories and start tell the children about it. By the end of the day, all the children start having dark thoughts about this building and keeping away from it. The unusual structure, and it’s kind of weird façade may helped the locals in making those stories.

Made of seven floors, shops in the ground floor, and apartments on the rest floors, this building was the highest in the horizontal extending block. Nowadays, It became a house for Asian labors. But I had noticed from many thing in its façade that it might became a kind of modern “Vernacular Architecture”, since the labors had organized the building with their own lifestyle and the changing in Manama Climate over years.
