لم أكن مخططاً أن اكتب عن هذا الأمر اليوم، بتاتاً، لكنني خلال جولتي الصباحية المعتادة، بين الأزقة الخالية الضيقة، بين المباني القديمة في وسط المنامة، غلبتني رهبة الأبواب، هذا الجمال لا يترك لك فرصة للتفكير، الأبواب منازل للذكريات، و صحف جميلة لعرض ما مضى.
يعرف الباب لغةً على أنه ما يُسد به مدخل البيت من خشب و نحوه، و مع مرور الأزمنة يصبح هذا السد محطاً للكثير من العوامل، تلك العوامل التي تَنْحت على الأبواب تقاسيم الحياة، تولد بين هذه التقاسيم رواية مليئة بالتفاصيل التي تعبر عن كل ما مر به أفراد البيوت و عبق الأزقة و زخم الحياة.
فمنذ أن كانت أبواب المنامة زرقاء بأكملها1 و حتى بعد أن اندثرت اليوم أو تبقى منها ما هو نادر جداً دون أي لون جذاب، كانت تحمل في أشكالها رسائل عدة، فكلما أصبح الباب أعظم، كان لصاحبه مكانة أكبر في المجتمع، و هكذا مع كل تشكيل أو تفصيل يضاف، يكون هناك أمر ما يظهره للناس.
تغير كل شيء، الأبواب اليوم لست مهمة للتعبير، لم تعد شاشات عرض للمجتمع، بل هي في كثير من الأحيان أمر ثابت بأبعاد و أشكال جاهزة، دون جمال، دون ذكرى، دون أمر مهم، للاسف.

I wasn’t planning to talk about this topic today at all. But, when I was walking in Manama this morning -in my usual trip- between the empty narrow lanes and the old buildings, I stopped near one the great doors of the city. And I lost in its beauty!
In the Cambridge Dictionary, one of “door” meanings is “a flat object that is used to close the entrance of something such as a room or building, or the entrance itself”. This flat object is always shaping during the years. Till it becomes a screen that presents the society stories.
Since, Manama’s doors where Cyan1, till now where it’s so rare to find one colored old door -if you find an old door- these objects are presenting real thoughts. As much as the door is big and well decorated, the owner has big role in the society. Simply but true.
Today, the door is not important to represent the society thoughts and stories. In fact, it became an stander object that could find everywhere, in similar dimensions, without any memory or even being pretty beautiful, Sadly!
